Five parallel events on human rights in Iran will be hold by Südwind at the 23rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council from 27 May to 14 June 2013, in Geneva, Switzerland.
The events will bring together Iranian human rights defenders and activists from various backgrounds and will share information on political rights, women’s rights, the system of justice, ahead of the June 2013 presidential elections the right to freedom of expression and on assembly, the right to education as well as on rights of ethnic and religious minority groups in Iran.
The first parallel event will take place on May 29th (10 am) and will concern the system of justice in Iran. May 30th (3pm) will be focused the right to freedom on assembly and association in Iran. On May 31st (4 pm) a parallel event will be hold on the discrimination against women.
On June 3rd (2 pm) a parallel event on the right to freedom of expression and on June 10th (12 p.m.) a parallel event on the human rights situation of religious and ethic minority groups will take place.
